Hello there! I don't know if you'll remember, since I know aa can be super busy, but I bought a few of your prints at Sakuracon the other day. I wasn't sure where one came from, so you recommended the show (Luther) and wrote it on one of your business cards for me. I actually printed the year-old Alice fanart as kind of a filler because I had so little to bring with me. It ended up being a great choice because quite a few people in addition to yourself asked where she was from, and one girl actually recognized her!

I knew I should have said something on tumblr earlier! I don’t think I’ll be boothing at any more cons this year, but I’ll be attending TCAF, AX probably, and SDCC. I definitely plan on tabling at Sakuracon next year, hopefully in the Small Press section. I’ve got plans for original stuff I want to get done by then…

I grabbed some letraset markers before leaving for Seattle and yesterday I had waaaay too much fun drawing ~*~*animu Adventure Time*~*~ at Sakura-Con.

If I draw more today I will probably post them on Instagram (@jab123). I am selling these and other sketch cards for $10 this weekend, so if you want ‘em come and get ‘em!

I’ll be in the Artist Alley at Sakura-Con this weekend! Work’s been kicking my butt and I just got over a nasty sinus infection (still chasing the last of it out, to be honest), but I’m excited to visit Seattle again. I’ll be tabling with some friends—no new stuff to show (see work, sinus infection), but I’ll have some old postcard prints and I’ll probably take a few sketch commissions if anybody wants one. Come say hi!

I also storyboarded like… the last ten seconds of this weekend’s Young Justice? Yep. Also did the usual revisions with Naz, plus the help of Kat and I think the whole fleet of revisionists. It’s a pretty crazy ep. Talks will be had! Punches will be thrown! People will run fast! We’re almost at the end!

I watched a lot of the new spring and summer movies with large groups of friends from work. More often than not a bunch of us ended up at the restaurant/bar after, yelling at each other about the movie we’d just seen. I recommend funtimes-arguing if you want to be a storyboard artist, writer, director, whatever! It’s a great way to learn new perspectives and continue to define where you stand creatively. I want to keep it going in 2013.

Marceline and the Scream Queens #5 is out Wednesday, Nov. 14th! Pick it up for more awesomeness from Meredith Gran, PLUS a backup comic by the incredible Polly Guo.

I don’t have a sketch for this one, but you might notice that the location of Marceline’s teethmarks had to be changed after my lineart was sent to Lisa Moore to color.

Weird to think that Adventure Time’s target demo was probably in utero or a sparkle in someone’s eye when this album came out…

I have not been this excited about showing something to you since we announced my sweet baby MARCELINE AND THE SCREAM QUEENS, written and drawn by Meredith “Wicked Rad” Gran. Which has its 4th issue out today, actually, featuring featuring back-up stories from Yuko, Ananth and Kate! Go down to your local comic shop! BUY IT. HUG IT. And then go back to your F&C daydreams.

Thank you so much for supporting the ADVENTURE TIME comic and getting us here. We’ll keep blowing your faces away in 2013. That’s no goal, girls and guys…that is a flippin’ PROMISE.

I drew this cover! I feel totally unworthy of being in any way attached to the awesomeness of this project! But I drew it! Colored again by the amazing Lisa Moore.

Do you guys like Baaaatman? Animation? Action, adventure, drama? Some good ol’ ojisan moe (if you don’t know what that is don’t google it, especially if I work with you)? Then you should check out Batman: The Dark Knight Returns Part 1, out on DVD/bluray and also available on iTunes this week!

Jay Oliva, his team of storyboard artists and revisionists (including the amazing Kat, who did the above art), Studio MOI, and everybody involved in the production did an awesome job. I’m looking forward to part 2!

…there’s something pretty cathartic about adorable-ing Frank Miller designs. Kat, you are the best.
